Schimmert is one of the highest located villages in the Netherlands. It lies on a plateau at the edge of the Heuvelland. The village is centrally located between Maastricht, Sittard and Heerlen. Exit roads are therefore in close proximity and quickly accessible. As a result, the NATO headquarters in Brunssum is just a 15-minute drive away.
Furthermore, the fields and hilly forests offer numerous recreational opportunities.
